Inclusivity in healthcare

Healthcare providers were rated lower in patient satisfaction for people with disabilities. This interactive training will help them receive 5 star reviews.

The Process

the problem

The pediatric Hospital approached me with results of a recent survey.

Although typically known for the satisfaction of care, this theoretical hospital discovered an outlying group that rated their satisfaction lower than the rest. The group of people were patients who had a disability. Parents of the patients were the group surveyed.

After meeting with all the hospital management, healthcare providers, and parents (SMEs), we action mapped the steps it would take for healthcare providers to receive a 5 star review from the parents.

Once the action Map was approved…

I created a text based story board. I used that board to create a visual mock up of the learning experience.

the next steps

When the visual mock up was approved…

I created the interactive learning experience in Articulate Storyline. Through this training, all objectives outlined in the action map were achieved. Healthcare providers learned to use people first language, learned options to involve the parents in the care plan, and learned various techniques to show they value the child.
